4일 오전, 서울시 종로 5가 기독교회관 조예홀에서 개신 교단 목회자들 1,000여명이 서명한 시국 선언을 가졌다.
개신교 목회자들은 이 선언을 통해 “두렵다. 온 나라에 재앙이 몰려오고 있다. 하나님의 심판이 두렵다. 윤석열 정부 1년, 민생은 파탄 나고 평화는 무너지고 민주주의는 후퇴 일로에 있다. 엉망진창, 지금 나라꼴을 무슨 다른 말로 표현할 수 있겠는가? 애초에 기대보다는 우려가 컸다. 촛불민의가 좌절되고 다시 과거로 회귀하는 현상에 대한 우려였다. 물론 그 우려가 현실이 되지 않기를 바라는 기대마저 없었던 것은 아니다. 윤석열 정부 1년간 펼쳐진 일들은 우려했던 것보다 훨씬 심각한 지경에 이르고 있다”고 선언하고 “1년 전 대통령 선거에서 드러난 바와 같이 우리 사회의 정치적 양극화는 극에 달했고, 따라서 어느 때보다도 국민적 통합을 위한 정치가 요구되는 상황에서 윤석열 정부는 출범했다. 하지만 국민적 통합을 위한 정치는커녕 아예 정치가 실종되었다. 검찰 권력이 온 사회를 속속들이 지배하고 일체의 정치행위가 사법적 판단에 맡겨지고 있다. 야당과의 협치는 말할 것도 없고 자당 소속 정치인들에게까지도 편 가르기 패악을 일삼고 있으니 대통령의 머릿속에 국민통합의 개념이 존재하기나 한 것인가?”라고 지적했다.

Through this declaration, Protestant pastors said, “I am afraid. Disaster is coming to the whole country. I am afraid of God's judgment. One year after the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, people's livelihoods are ruined, peace collapses, and democracy is on the verge of retreat. A mess, how else can you describe the state of the country right now? In the first place, the concern was greater than the expectation. It was a concern about the phenomenon of the candlelight protests being frustrated and returning to the past. Of course, it is not that there was no expectation that the concern would not become a reality. The events that have unfolded over the past year of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration have reached a much more serious level than was feared,” he declared. The Yoon Seok-yeol government was launched in a situation where the government was required. However, politics has completely disappeared, let alone politics for national unity. The power of the prosecution dominates the whole society, and all political acts are entrusted to judicial judgment. He pointed out, “Does the concept of national unity even exist in the president’s head as he is making a habit of splitting sides even to politicians belonging to the party, not to mention cooperation with the opposition party?”
