[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 밀양시는 12일 상동면 농업회사법인 ㈜우정에서 생산농가와 시 직원 등이 참석한 가운데 초피 일본 수출 선적식을 개최했다.
이번 수출은 초피 재배·가공을 전문으로 하는 농업회사법인 ㈜우정의 2023년 첫 수출로 물량은 3,400만원, 756kg이다.
초피는 매콤한 맛과 톡 쏘는 향이 특징인데 우리나라보다 일본에서 더 많이 사용되며 육류와 생선요리에 자주 사용되는 향신료다.
한국 초피는 가격경쟁력이 높고 품질이 우수해 일본 내에서 선호도가 높지만, 재배가 어려워 수출물량을 확보하는 데 어려움을 겪고 있다.
이에 우정호 대표는 재배 노하우를 공유하고 초피 재배단지 조성을 위해 생산 농가를 늘리는 등 초피 생산 확대에 앞장서고 있다.
