주낙영 시장, 북경주 파크골프장 조성 진행상황 점검

시에 따르면 13억 원의 예산을 들여 7700㎡ 규모의 파크골프장(9홀)을 조성하는 이 사업은 지역 내 부족한 체육시설의 인프라를 확보하고 주민들의 생활환경을 개선하기 위해 지난해 5월 기본구상계획 용역을 완료했으며, 공유재산관리계획과 토지보상 등의 협의를 거쳐 올 10월 착공해 내년 5월 개장을 목표로 행정절차가 진행 중이다.

이날 현장을 찾은 주낙영 시장은 “인구 고령화에 따라 많은 어르신들이 여가생활을 가질 수 있는 공간이 더욱 필요하다”라며 “체육시설 확충사업을 통한 어르신들의 여가와 체육활동으로 건강한 사회가 될 수 있도록 차질 없이 사업을 추진하는데 최선을 다해달라”고 당부했다.

파크골프는 공원을 이용한 골프의 게임요소를 결합한 생활스포츠로 운동장비와 규칙이 간단해 남녀노소 누구나 쉽게 즐길 수 있다.

시는 내년까지 총 35억원을 투입해 △시내권(경주파크골프 제2구장) 18홀 △서경주(건천) 9홀 △동경주(양남, 월성원자력본부 추진) 18홀 △남경주(외동) 9홀 △북경주(안강) 9홀 등 총 63홀을 확충할 예정이다.
