【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시는 23일 시청 알천홀에서 경주·울산·포항의 해오름동맹 3개 도시의 상반기 정기회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이날 상생협의회는 주낙영 경주시장을 비롯해 김두겸 울산시장, 김남일 포항부시장 등 40여명이 참석했다.
회의는 해오름도시 공동협력사업 추진성과 보고, 2023년 해오름동맹 도시발전 전략 연구 용역 착수보고, 상생발전 모델 정립과 초광역 발전전략 마련을 위한 3개 도시 시장 제언, APEC 경주유치를 위한 퍼포먼스 등의 순으로 진행됐다.
용역 착수보고 주요 내용은 △해오름동맹 도시 현황 및 대내·외 여건 분석 △관련계획 및 정책 검토 △공동협력사업 추진 성과 분석 △해오름동맹 기본구상 및 발전전략 등의 내용을 담고 있다.
해오름동맹 3개 도시는 이번 ‘해오름동맹 도시발전 전략 연구용역’에서 도출된 초광역 공동협력 사업을 본격 추진할 계획이다.
특히 이날 회의에 참석한 경주·울산·포항의 단체장과 간부 공무원들은 2025 APEC 정상회의 경주 개최에 함께 역량을 모으기로 결의하며 유치 기원 퍼포먼스도 펼쳤다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “이번 용역을 통해 지난해 하반기 정기회에서 공동발표한 해오름 초광역 상생공동체 5대 전략과제를 구체화하고 초광역 경제 공동체로서 동반 성장과 국가 균형발전에도 기여할 수 있도록 많은 협력 방안이 도출되길 바란다” 고 말했다.
한편 해오름동맹은 밀접한 생활권인 3개 도시 울산, 포항, 경주가 울산~포항 간 고속도로 개통을 계기로 지난 2016년 6월 결성한 이후 다양한해오름 상생협력 공동사업(4개 분야, 30개 사업)을 추진 중에 있다.
그간 해오름동맹은 ‘도계 지역 식수난 해결’ 등 지역 현안사항에 공동으로 협력은 물론 ‘수도권과 지방의 법인세율 차등적용’에 대해선 기재부와 여야 정당에 공동으로 대응하며 뜻을 모았다.
