밀양시는 1일 경북 청도군 청도읍 신도터널 입구에서 부산지방국토관리청 주관으로 청도-밀양1·2 국도 건설공사에 따른 개통식을 가졌다.
이날 개통식은 진현환 부산지방국토관리청장, 박일호 밀양시장, 김하수 청도군수, 정정규 밀양시의회의장, 김효태 청도군의회의장, 밀양시·청도군의 기관단체장, 지역 주민 등 100여 명이 참석한 가운데 열렸다.

청도-밀양1·2 국도건설공사는 사업비 1,074억원을 투입해 부산지방국토관리청에서 시행했다.
밀양시 산외면 남기리 긴늪교차로에서 청도군 청도읍 신도리 새마을교차로를 잇는 국도 25호선 총 10.87km(1공구 7.03km, 2공구 3.84km) 구간의 2차로 시설개량사업으로 2017년 5월 착공해 오는 9일 개통에 이르게 됐다.
청도-밀양 간 국도 개량으로 전 구간 주행거리가 2.83km(13.7→10.87km), 주행시간은 5분(19→14분) 단축돼 상동면과 시내 생활권과의 접근성 강화와 청도군과의 상생발전에 큰 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.
