구인모 군수는 16일 지역활력타운 시범사업 선정 지자체장 간담회에 참석해 살기좋은 지역만들기를 위한 지역활력타운 정책 추진방안과 협력체계 구축 및 역할 분담, 후속 일정 등에 대해 논의했다.
이날 간담회는 이원재 국토부 제1차관이 주재했으며, 2023년 시범사업 선정 지자체장과 7개 부처 사업 담당, 한국토지주택공사 등이 참석한 가운데 △지역활력타운 정책 설명 △이주정착단지 사례 소개 및 지원계획 설명 △지속가능한 마을 만들기 강연 △지자체 간 사업계획을 공유했다.
또한, 참석자 자유토론 시간을 갖고 지자체의 건의 사항과 애로사항을 청취하며 다양한 방안을 모색하는 등 지역활력타운 조성사업이 지방정착 거점 모델 창출을 위한 시범사업인 만큼 중앙과 지방의 역량을 집중해 조기에 성과를 확보하고자 했다.

지역활력타운 조성 사업은 지방소멸에 공동으로 대응하고 지방이전 성공모델 창출·확산을 통한 국토균형발전을 위해 7개 부처가 협력 추진하는 사업으로 거창군을 포함해 전국에 7개소 지자체가 선정됐다.
국토부는 지역별 자문 건축사를 선정하고 지자체에 지원해 수요맞춤형 건축과 에너지 절감 기술 적용 등 우수 건축 기술을 도입하고, 지역특화 건축모델을 발굴함으로써 우수 디자인으로 지역의 랜드마크화 등 건축미를 제고할 계획이다.
