[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 의령군이 경상남도가 18개 시군을 대상으로 실시한 산불예방·대응 시군 평가에서 ‘우수’ 기관으로 선정됐다.
이번 평가는 산불조심기간 중 △산불예방 △산불방지 홍보 △산불대응 △우수사례 등 4개 분야, 11개 세부지표 실적 종합을 평가했다.
의령군은 지난해 가을부터 올해 봄까지 강풍을 동반한 건조한 날씨가 지속되면서 전국 동시다발적으로 대형 산불이 발생하는 등 많은 어려움 속에서 ‘우수’ 기관에 선정되는 쾌거를 이뤘다. 군부에서는 거창군이 최우수를, 의령군과 고성군이 우수의 영예를 안았다.
군은 산불감시원과 산불전문예방진화대원 116명을 산불취약지에 촘촘히 배치하여 체계적인 감시활동에 주력했다.
또 초동 진화를 위하여 자체예산 및 지원사업비로 진화 차량 4대를 추가로 사들여 권역별 취약지 읍면에 투입했다.
특히 산불 발생의 주요 원인으로 꼽히는 영농부산물 소각행위의 근절을 위해 인화물질 제거 작업단을 운영해 파쇄작업을 지원했다.
군은 약 30톤의 영농부산물을 파쇄해 산불 발생 요인을 급격히 줄였으며, 소각으로 인한 탄소발생 또한 차단함으로써 탄소중립 실천과 미세먼지 감축에도 이바지했다.
한편, 의령군은 지난해 1월까지 경남에서 유일하게 2년 넘게 산불이 발생하지 않은 유일한 지역이었다.
