27일 경주시에 따르면 사업비 153억원을 들여 조성에 나선 노서동 ‘금관총’과 ‘신라고분정보센터’는 2015년부터 발굴조사·설계공모 등을 거쳐 2018년 12월, 2020년 12월 각각 착공에 들어갔다.
두 곳 모두 2023년 5월까지 내부 정보화 구축사업을 거쳐 건축면적 1,641.32㎡(금관총 617.32㎡, 고분정보센터 575.90㎡), 연면적 1,555.9㎡(금관총 575.9㎡, 고분정보센터 980㎡) 규모로 조성됐다.
‘금관총’과 ‘신라고분정보센터’은 철근콘크리트와 철골구조의 건축물로 ‘현장유적 박물관’과 신라 고분의 모든 정보를 담는 신라 고분의 이해를 높이기 위한 ‘지식타워 플랫폼’ 역할을 하게 될 전망이다.
‘신라고분정보센터’는 지난달 23일 주낙영 시장의 현장점검과 최종보고회를 거쳐 정보화 구축사업을 완료하는 등 오는 30일 정식 개관을 위해 사전준비 절차도 한창이다.
