【브레이크뉴스 포항】박희경 기자=한국로봇융합연구원은 지난 6일, 국가기술표준원 KOLAS(한국인정기구, Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme)로부터 국내 최초로 서비스로봇의 이동 및 주행 성능과 관련된 국제 표준 기반의 공인시험기관 자격을 획득했다고 11일 밝혔다.

한국로봇융합연구원은 환경 및 신뢰성 분야에서도 로봇부품의 온도/습도 변화 특성, 방수/방진 성능 등에 대한 KOLAS 공인시험기관이기도 하다.
한국로봇융합연구원이 이번에 새로 획득한 KOLAS 인정 규격 및 시험범위는, ‘ISO 18646-1(로봇 -- 서비스 로봇의 성능 기준 및 관련 시험방법 -- 제1부 : 바퀴형 로봇의 이동능력)의 정격속도, 정지특성, 문턱통과 이동성능, 선회 폭’과 ‘ISO 18646-2(로봇 -- 서비스 로봇의 성능 기준 및 관련 시험방법 -- 제2부: 주행)의 자세특성, 장애물 감지’이다.
최근 물류, 배송, 서빙 등 다양한 분야에 서비스로봇의 활용이 높아지고 있으나, 국제적으로 통용이 가능한 ISO 표준 기반의 성능시험기관이 없어 성능검증에 애로사항을 갖는 기업이 많이 있었다.
여준구 한국로봇융합연구원 원장은 “이번 KOLAS 공인시험기관 인정으로 서비스로봇 기업의 제품 품질 향상을 위한 성능평가, 판매 및 수출을 위한 성능검증 등을 지원하여 국내 서비스로봇 산업의 발전에 이바지할 것으로 기대하며, 향후 로봇 시험 시설과 장비를 지속적으로 보강하여 우리 로봇기업의 국제 경쟁력 강화를 위해 최선을 다하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
