한중도시우호협회측은 7월25일자 보도자료에서 “권기식 한중도시우호협회장은 25일 오후 서울시 중구 소재 앰배서더 서울 풀만 호텔 귀빈실에서 장훙푸(張鴻福) 중국 내몽골자치구 인민정부 한국 방문단장(내몽골자치구 상무청장) 등 대표단과 한중 지방정부 교류 간담회를 열었다”고 전했다.
권기식 회장은 이 모임의 모두 발언에서 "한중 관계는 지난 31년간 비약적인 발전을 했다"며 "내몽골자치구 대표단의 한국 방문과 투자무역 설명회는 가뭄의 단비 처럼 한중 교류와 경제협력에 큰 도움이 될 것"이라고 말했다.
장훙푸(張鴻福) 단장은 "한중 지방정부 교류에 앞장서는 권기식 회장이 내몽골자치구와 한국 도시들의 교류와 협력에 도움을 주기 바란다"며 권기식 회장의 내몽골 자치구 방문을 초청했다. 양측은 이날 내몽골자치구와 한국 도시간 교류 및 경제협력 방안을 논의했다.
권기식 회장은 이어 이 호텔 그랜드볼룸에서 열린 '한ㆍ내몽골 투자무역 협력 설명회'에 참석해 축사를 했다. 이 행사는 내몽골자치구 상무청과 한중도시우호협회, 한국무역협회, 대한무역투자진흥공사가 공동주최했으며, 100여개 한국 기업들이 참여했다.
권기식 회장은 축사에서 "지난 2022년 한중 교역액은 3623억달러로 한국은 중국에서 미국에 이어 제 2의 교역국이 되었다"며 "희토류 등 각종 지하자원이 풍부하고 중국 중앙정부의 강력한 지원을 받는 내몽골자치구는 한국 기업들에게 기회의 땅이 될 것"이라고 말했다. 이날 간담회와 투자무역 협력 설명회에는 내몽골자치구에서 장훙푸(張鴻福) 상무청장과 치다렁타이(奇達楞太) 퉁랴오(通遼)시 인민정부 시장, 치페이원(奇飛雲) 우란차부(烏蘭察布)시 인민정부 시장, 러이땐쥔(雷殿軍) 바오터우(包頭)시 인민정부 부시장, 딩샤오룽(丁曉龍) 상무청 외무처장 등이 참석했으며, 한중도시우호협회에서는 권기식 회장과 최종하ㆍ서강옥ㆍ이문구 부회장, 권완근 천안시 지회장, 권세현 홍보팀장 등 임원들이 참석했다.
내몽골자치구는 인구 2400만명 규모의 자치구로 태양광 등 에너지 산업과 화학, 농산물 가공, 첨단 기술 분야에서 급속한 발전을 이루고 있다.

The Korea-China Cities Friendship Association said in a press release on July 25, “Kwon Ki-shik, president of the Korea-China Cities Friendship Association, held an exchange meeting with local governments in Korea and China on the afternoon of the 25th in the VIP room of the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, with Zhang Hongfu, the head of the visit to Korea from the People’s Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China (Director of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Commerce Office).”
Chairman Kwon Ki-sik said in his remarks at the meeting, "Korea-China relations have developed dramatically over the past 31 years." "The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region delegation's visit to Korea and the briefing session on investment and trade will be of great help to Korea-China exchanges and economic cooperation, like rain during a drought."
Director Chang Hong-fu invited Chairman Kwon Ki-sik to visit Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, saying, “I hope Chairman Ki-shik Kwon, who is leading exchanges between local governments in Korea and China, will help exchanges and cooperation between Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Korean cities.” The two sides discussed plans for exchange and economic cooperation between the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Korean cities that day.
Chairman Kwon Ki-sik then delivered a congratulatory speech at the 'Korea-Inner Mongolia Investment and Trade Cooperation Briefing' held at the hotel's Grand Ballroom. The event was co-hosted by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Commerce Office, Korea-China Cities Friendship Association, Korea International Trade Association, and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, and more than 100 Korean companies participated.
In his congratulatory speech, Chairman Kwon Ki-sik said, "The amount of trade between Korea and China in 2022 was $362.3 billion, making Korea the second largest trading partner in China after the United States." At the meeting and briefing session on investment and trade cooperation in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Zhang Hongfu, Director of Commerce, Chi Lungtai, Mayor of Tongliao Municipal People's Government, Qi Peiwen, Mayor of Wulanchabu Municipal People's Government, and Lei Tanjun, Baotou Vice Mayor of People's Government of Guangdong City, Ding Xiaolong, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Commerce Office, etc. attended, and executives of Korea-China Cities Friendship Association, including Chairman Kwon Ki-sik, Choi Jong-ha, Seo Kang-ok, Vice Chairman Lee Moon-gu, Cheonan City Branch President Kwon Wan-geun, and Public Relations Team Manager Kwon Se-hyeon attended.
Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is an autonomous region with a population of 24 million and is achieving rapid development in energy industries such as solar power, chemicals, agricultural products processing, and high-tech fields.
