[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창사건희생자유족회는 지난 25일 국회에 계류 중인 거창사건 특별법안 처리 요청을 위해 국회를 방문해 김태호 국회의원과 김도읍 법사위원장, 민주당 법사위 간사 소병철 의원 및 장동혁 의원을 만나 법안 처리를 강력히 촉구했다.
거창사건은 6.25 전쟁 중 1951년 2월 9일부터 11일까지 3일간 거창군 신원면에서 국군병력이 공비토벌 과정에서 주민 719명을 집단 학살한 사건으로 대구중앙고등군법회의에서 국군의 위법행위를 판결로 인정받은 사건이다.
‘거창사건 특별법안’은 국회 법사위 3건, 행안위 1건으로 총 4건이 계류되어 있지만 심사가 이뤄지지 않고 있다.
이날 국회 방문에는 유족회 임원과 유족을 비롯해 박수자 거창군의회 부의장과 이재운 군의원, 거창사건사업소 직원 등이 참석해 거창사건 특별법안이 제21대 국회 임기 내 통과될 수 있도록 협조를 요청했다.
