[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 창녕군은 27일 한국수자원공사 낙동강유역본부와 붉은점모시나비 증식·방사 기술교류 및 공동협력에 대한 MOU를 체결했다.
이번 협약식에는 성낙인 창녕군수, 한국수자원공사 낙동강유역본부 차종명 본부장과 관계자들이 참석했다.
이날 협약식에서 두 기관은 멸종위기 야생생물 Ⅰ급인 붉은점모시나비의 증식·방사, 생활사별 모니터링 및 결과 공유, 유지관리 관련 기술지원, 홍보 등을 시행하는 내용에 합의했다.
성낙인 군수는 “이번 협약식 체결로 다시 한번 인간은 자연과 공존해야 한다는 것을 느낄 수 있었다”며 “한국수자원공사와 협력을 통해 붉은점모시나비의 서식 환경이 잘 마련돼 과업을 꼭 달성할 수 있기를 바란다”고 말했다.
한국수자원공사 낙동강유역본부는 경북 청송의 임하댐 저수구역 내에 다양한 생물의 서식지를 조성하는 생태계 복원사업을 추진하고 있으며 붉은점모시나비 방사 및 정착도 이 복원사업의 일환이다.
창녕생태곤충원은 지난 2022년 복원에 성공한 붉은점모시나비 외에도 멸종위기 야생생물인 대모잠자리, 두점박이사슴벌레, 물장군도 복원해 증식 중에 있다.
