이날 시의원과 직원들은 수해복구 일손이 없어 어려움을 겪고 있는 주민들에게 도움의 손길을 나눴다.
이날33도를 웃도는 폭염에도 구슬땀을 흘리며 복구작업에 힘썼으며, 생활터전을 잃은 마을주민이 하루빨리일상으로 복귀할 수 있도록 최선을 다했다.
이철우 의장은 "무더운 날씨에도 한마음 한뜻으로 나서준 동료 의원님과직원 여러분께 감사드린다" 며 “실의에 빠진 피해 주민들께 이번 방문이희망과 용기가 돼 일상 회복을 앞당기는 데 조금이라도 도움이되길바란다"라고 전했다.
한편 경주시의회는 의원과 직원들이 자발적으로 모금한 성금 300만원을 조속한 피해복구를 위해 영주시에 전달했다.
