[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 함안군은 가야읍 광정리 12-1번지 일원의 ‘함안 괴항지구 지방상수도 개량공사’에 대한 본격적인 공사에 돌입했다.

군에 따르면 지난 5월 개최된 ‘제30회 함안낙화놀이’ 행사에 예상치 못한 많은 관람 인파가 몰리면서 화장실 사용량이 늘어, 화장실 수량 부족과 수압 저하로 화장실 사용에 어려움이 있었다.

이에 무진정 일대의 공용화장실을 포함하여 원활하고 안전한 수도공급을 위해 이번 지방상수도 개량공사를 추진하게 됐다.

개량공사는 △송수관로 확장(50→75mm) △계량기 관경 확대(13→32mm) △수압개선(가야 광정지구 말단부→함안 괴산지구 분기 신규지선)을 개선해 수도를 공급할 예정이다.

함안군 상하수도사업소에서 개량공사를 완료하고 이후 함안군 문화유산관광담당관에서 내선작업 등 부대공사를 시공해 오는 10월 공사를 완공할 예정이다.

군 관계자는 “개량공사를 차질 없이 완공하여 행사 시 방문객들이 화장실 사용에 불편함이 없도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
