[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 통영시는 문화체육관광부, 한국관광공사에서 주최하고 통영시와 한국관광학회가 주관하는 ‘2023 대한민국 야간관광 포럼’을 오는 8일 오후 1시 정부기관, 지자체, 관광학회, 전문가, 유관기관 관계자 등 250여명이 참석해 통영국제음악당 블랙박스홀에서 개최한다.
이번 포럼은 엔데믹 시대 지역경제 재도약 및 지역소멸 대응을 위한 야간관광 활성화 방안을 모색하기 위해 마련된 것으로 1부는 ‘엔데믹 시대 야간관광을 통한 지역관광활성화’와 ‘인구감소지역 활성화를 위한 야간관광의 역할’에 대한 전문가 발제 후 토론이 진행될 예정이다.
2부는 대한민국 제1호 야간관광도시에 선정된 통영, 인천 사례와 다양한 외국 사례를 중심으로 지역특화 야간관광 사업전략수립 세미나가 개최될 예정이다.
이번 행사 개최지인 통영시는 야간관광 브랜드인 “Tonight TongYeong” 슬로건을 통해 야간관광 특화도시 통영 이미지를 확립하고 통영 야간 관광의 핵심인 통영 다섯 가지 밤 선물 디피랑, 강구안, 밤바다투어, 통영야경, 해저터널을 중심으로 야간관광 특화도시 사업을 차근차근 준비하고 있다.
또한, 통영 강구안 경관 개선사업과 강구안 일대 연중 야간 문화예술공연 개최, 통영한산대첩축제 야간 행사 전환 등 야간관광 인프라 확충과 콘텐츠 개발을 위해 다양한 노력을 하고 있다.
통영시 관계자는 “이번 야간관광 포럼을 통해 생활인구 증대와 지역경제 활성화의 방안으로 야간 및 체류형 관광의 중요성에 대한 심도 깊은 논의가 있을 것으로 예상되니, 관광에 관심이 있는 많은 분들의 참석을 바란다”고 밝혔다.
