24일 재단에 따르면 십여 년 역사를 지닌 영해중학교 윈드 오케스트라는 관악기와 타악기로 구성돼 영해중학교에 재학 중인 학생 45명이 단원으로 참여하고 있다.
학생들의 능동적인 참여와 학교의 적극적인 지원으로 매주 2회 합주 연습과 파트별 레슨을 진행했고, 방과 후 개인 연습을 통해 보다 완숙해진 무대를 선보일 예정이다.
이번 공연은 영해초등학교‘방과 후 현악반’이 식전 행사를 맡았고 영덕여중 이정연 학생의 독창, 원황초등학교의 합창 등 청소년의 감성으로 무대를 채울 예정이다. 또 뮤지컬 스타 이건명 배우가 참여, 윈드오케스트라와 협연하게 된다.
특히 이번 행사는 영덕지역 청소년의 숨은 끼와 재능을 발굴하고 펼칠 수 있는 기회를 제공하기위해 기획된 영덕 청소년 예술제 ‘오락가락 페스티벌’의 주요 프로그램이기도 하다.
작년 성황리에 막 내린‘제1회 오락가락 페스티벌’을 초석 삼아 올해는 청소년들이 직접 기획하고 운영하는 방식을 도입, 작년보다 더 풍성한 행사를 준비하고 있다.
11월 1일과 2일 양일간 개최되는 ‘제2회 오락가락 페스티벌’은 첫날 대중음악 공연, 둘째 날 클래식 공연이 이어진다.
음악감독을 맡은 영해중 김한수 교사는 “영해중 윈드 오케스트라가 창립된 지 오래지만 청소년들이 재능을 펼칠 기회가 거의 없었고, 윈드 오케스트라가 공연할 만한 축제도 없었다. 하지만 작년부터 시작한 ‘오락가락 페스티벌’을 통해 학생들이 진짜 무대를 경험하면서 많은 성장을 이루었다. 올해 두 번째 무대를 통해 한 차원 더 발전하길 기대한다.”고 전했다.
