브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 고(故) 김대중 전 대통령의 한반도와 동아시아 평화 실현 정신을 기리기 위해 설립된 '김대중재단'의 김포시지회(지회장 조승현)가 오는 31일 설립된다.
김대중재단은 31일 오후 3시부터 김포시 사우동 효원연수문화센터에서 김포지회 창립대회를 개최할 예정이다.
이날 행사에는 권노갑 김대중재단 이사장, 문희상 전국회의장을 비롯해 송영길 전 더불어민주당 대표, 김포의 지역 국회의원인 김주영, 박상혁, 강득구 의원과 김포지회 회원, 시민단체 인사, 일반 시민 등이 참석할 예정이다.
김대중 대통령을 추모하고 고난과 영광이 점철된 파란만장한 생애를 되새기는 영상과 특별사진 전시회도 함께 진행될 예정이다.
창립대회 초대 지부장에는 김포시의원과 경기도의원, 민주당 부대변인을 역임한 조승현 지회장이 맡았다.
조승현 초대 지회장은 "김대중 대통령은 한반도 평화와 미래 IT산업, 정보화 사회, 한류와 복지국가의 기반을 마련한 위대한 지도자"라며 "현재 민주주의와 외교, 한반도의 평화가 위협받는 상황에서 다시 한 번 김대중 정신이 필요하다"고 강조했다.

"President Kim Dae Jung is a great leader who laid the foundation for peace on the Korean Peninsula, the future IT industry, the information society, the Korean Wave and the welfare state," Cho Seung-hyun, the first branch president, said. "At a time when democracy, diplomacy, and peace on the Korean Peninsula are threatened, we need the spirit of Kim Dae Jung once again."
