이번 행사는 일본 후쿠시마 오염 처리수 방류로 위축된 수산물 소비촉진을 위하여 해양수산부에서 주최하는 전통시장 온누리상품권 환급행사로 올해 2번째 영덕에서 열린다.
이번 김장철에는 경북에서 2개 시장에서만 진행되며 그중 하나가 영덕읍시장이다.
행사기간은 11월 20일부터 26일까지이며 영덕읍시장 내 30여 점포에서 수산물을 구입하면 구매금액의 최대 40%(2만원 한도)를 온누리상품권으로 환급받을 수 있다.
환급금액은 2만 5천원 이상~5만원 미만 구매 시 1만원, 5만원 이상 구매 시 2만원이며 구입 후 시장 내 환급부스로 방문하면 바로 온누리상품권으로 환급이 가능하다.
영덕읍시장은 올해 추석 전 9월 동일행사를 추진하였으며 관내 지역민들의 인기에 힘입어 7일간 예정이었던 행사가 3일 만에 조기 종료된바 있다.
기존 4,000장이었던 온누리상품권이 이번에는 추가되어 총 10,000장이 준비되어 있으며 상품권 조기 소진 시 행사는 종료된다.
추가로 이번 행사에는 간편환급시스템이 도입되어 판매자가 전산시스템에 구매자 연락처와 구매금액을 입력하면 부스에서 바로 확인하여 환급이 가능하도록 변경하여 소비자의 편의성을 제고했다.
김장철을 맞아 영덕읍시장을 방문하는 소비자가 증가할 것으로 예상되어 영덕군은 영덕읍시장을 대상으로 수산물 방사능 검사 또한 꾸준히 진행 중이며 장비 도입 이후 총 9회 검사를 실시하였고 결과는 모두 안전하다.
