브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 대우건설은 이집트 카이로에서 지난 22일(현지기준) 압둘하킴 파드헬 모함메드 (Abdulhakim Fadhel Mohammed) 예멘 전력에너지부 제1차관 등 주요 관계자를 만나 예멘이 최우선 사업으로 추진하고 있는 LNG 인수기지 프로젝트 추진을 위한 양해각서(MOU)를 체결했다고 24일 밝혔다.
이날 체결된 MOU는 Little Aden 지역 발전소의 가스 공급을 위한 LNG 인수기지 및 연결 파이프라인을 건설하는 사업으로, 대우건설과 예멘 전력에너지부는 추후 450MW 규모의 복합화력 발전소 신설 등 추가 에너지 인프라 사업도 협업하기로 논의했다.
예멘은 고유가로 인한 디젤 기반 발전소의 전력 생산 단가가 높아지고 있는 상황을 해결하고자 LNG Terminal 및 Gas 기반의 복합화력발전소 건설이 필요한 상황이다.
대우건설은 다양한 형태의 LNG 플랜트 및 발전소 건설기술을 보유해 향후 해당 프로젝트가 본격화 되면 수주 가능성이 높아질 것으로 기대하고 있다. 대우건설은 이번 MOU 체결을 통해 앞으로 예멘 에너지전력부와 실무진 협의 및 현장조사를 이어갈 예정이다.
