【브레이크뉴스 영덕】박영재 기자=조주홍 영덕군수 예비후보가 오는 6월 3일 실시되는 제9회 전국동시지방선거에서 국민의힘 영덕군수 후보로 최종 확정됐다.
국민의힘 경북도당 공천관리위원회는 지난 20일부터 21일까지 이틀간 진행한 국민 여론조사를 통해 당내 경선 결과를 확정했으며, 조 후보는 이를 통과해 본선 진출권을 확보했다.

특히 경선 과정에서 이희진 예비후보와의 단일화를 통해 ‘원팀’ 구도를 형성한 점이 이번 결과에 긍정적으로 작용했다는 평가다. 양측은 단일화 당시 소모적 경쟁을 지양하고 지역 발전을 위한 협력에 뜻을 모은 바 있다.
조 후보는 후보 확정 직후 “군민과 당원의 선택에 감사드린다”며 “경쟁했던 후보들과 힘을 합쳐 반드시 영덕의 변화를 이끌어내겠다”고 밝혔다. 이어 “현장 중심의 낮은 자세로 군민 삶을 책임지는 군정을 실현하겠다”고 강조했다.

Cho Joo-hong has been officially confirmed as the People Power Party’s candidate for Yeongdeok County governor in the 9th nationwide local elections scheduled for June 3.

In his acceptance speech, Cho said, “I am deeply grateful to the residents and party members. I will unite with former competitors and deliver real change for Yeongdeok,” adding that he would pursue a people-centered administration focused on tangible results.
