전남도는 22일 나주 한국에너지공과대학교(KENTECH) 국제회의장에서 ‘지역 첨단 미래산업 육성전략’을 주제로 ‘제28회 한·중포럼’을 개최하고, 양 지역의 상생 발전을 위한 공동 과제를 심도 있게 논의했다.
이날 포럼에는 신현곤 전남도 국제협력관, 강상구 나주 부시장, 왕이 저장성사회과학원 부원장, 김현철 전남연구원 부원장을 비롯해 양국 관련 전문가와 지역 관계자 100여 명이 참석해 뜨거운 관심을 보였다.
이번 포럼은 급변하는 글로벌 산업 환경에 대응하기 위해 신재생에너지, 탄소중립, 인공지능 등 양 지역이 주력하고 있는 핵심 미래 전략을 공유하는 데 초점이 맞춰졌다.
전남도는 포럼에서 지역 특성에 맞춘 ‘에너지 전환 전략’을 발표하며 글로벌 에너지 허브로의 도약 의지를 피력했다. 이어 전남연구원은 ▲2050 탄소중립 실현을 위한 기술개발 방향 ▲지역 내 AI 인프라를 활용한 산업 성장 전략 등을 제시하며 구체적인 실행 방안을 제안했다.
중국 측 파트너인 저장성은 자국의 앞선 인공지능 정책과 사례를 소개했으며, 저장성사회과학원은 ▲산업의 녹색전환 추진 과정과 과제 ▲저탄소 도시 구축 모델 ▲미래형 커뮤니티 조성 방안 등을 발표하며 지속 가능한 도시 모델에 대한 견해를 밝혔다.
한·중포럼은 지난 1998년 전남도와 저장성이 자매결연을 체결한 이후, 매년 양국을 오가며 지역 공동 발전을 모색해 온 대표적인 지방외교 플랫폼이다.
그동안 문화, 관광, 농업 등 전통적 협력 분야에서 시작해 최근에는 건강관리 산업, 청년 정책, 동아시아 문화수도 건설 등 시대적 흐름을 반영한 주제로 협력의 범위를 넓혀왔다. 특히 올해는 기술 중심의 첨단 산업을 핵심 의제로 다루며 양 지역의 협력 수준을 한 단계 더 격상시켰다는 평가를 받고 있다.
