브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차는 아산공장이 국제 안전과학 인증 기관 ‘UL 솔루션(UL Solutions)’의 ‘폐기물 매립 제로(Zero Waste To Landfill) 인증’에서 완성차 제조 기업 중 최초로 가장 높은 플래티넘(Platinum) 등급을 최근 획득했다고 24일 밝혔다.
‘폐기물 매립 제로 인증’은 △소각을 통한 에너지 생산 △재사용 △재활용 △퇴비화 등 친환경적이고 책임감 있는 방식으로 폐기물을 처리하는 사업장에 주어진다.
‘폐기물 매립 제로 인증’을 담당하는 ‘UL 솔루션’은 서류와 현장 심사를 통해 사업장의 폐기물 보관 및 처리 과정이 UL2799A 규격에 적합한지 확인한다.
또한, 사업장의 실질 재활용율을 측정해 △플래티넘 등급(실질 재활용률 100%) △골드 등급(실질 재활용률 95%~99%) △실버 등급(실질 재활용률 90%~94%)을 부여한다.
현대차 아산공장은 자동차 프레스 공정에서 발생하는 고철을 재활용해 철강제품을 생산하고 엔진 생산 공정에서 발생하는 폐주물사 및 폐알루미늄을 엔진 생산 원부재료로 전량 재활용하는 등 자원순환을 적극 실시하고 있다.
