환경부가 내년 상반기 중 세종보 정상 가동을 목표로 수문 정비 사업에 나선다.
최민호 세종시장은 29일 한화진 환경부 장관과 함께 세종보 현장을 방문, 세종보 수문 정비 본격 착수를 앞두고 일정 및 계획을 점검했다.
이날 환경부는 세종보 정상화 사업을 내년 상반기 안에 완료하고 기상 여건에 따라 탄력적으로 수위를 조절해 운영할 계획임을 밝혔다.
이와 함께 세종보 상류의 금강 수변 경관 개선에도 적극 나서 ‘2026년 국제정원도시박람회’가 성공적인 국제행사로 치러질 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다고 약속했다.
최민호 시장은 환경부의 세종보 수문 정비 일정에 맞춰 세종보 운영에 장해가 되는 하상 수목 제거, 치수 안전성 확보를 위한 둔치 호안 설치 등 보 운영에 따른 후속조치에 적극 협력해 나가기로 했다.
또한, 수자원공사에는 과거 세종보 운영 시 제기되었던 낙차 소음 등 지역 주민 불편 사항에 대해 선제적으로 대책을 수립하고, 겨울철 공사로 인한 안전사고 예방을 위해 안전관리에 힘써줄 것을 당부했다.
