브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 환경부 소속 화학물질안전원은 ‘제3회 화학사고예방관리계획 이행 우수사례 공유대회’를 통해 우수사례로 기업 6곳을, 특별기여 사례로 지자체 2곳을 선정했다고 4일 밝혔다.
2021년부터 시작한 우수사례 공유대회는 ‘외국인 근로자 비상대응 인력 편성’과 같은 기업의 특성을 고려한 화학안전관리 우수사례를 찾아내 공유하고, 이를 통해 화학안전문화를 정착시키기 위해 추진되는 것이다.
올해 공유대회는 10월 19일부터 11월 3일까지 공모를 통해 다양한 사례를 모집했고, 내용의 적합성, 현장 적용성, 충실성 등의 1차 서면평가와 구체성, 확산성, 발표 전달력 등에 대한 2차 발표평가를 통해 우수사례가 선정됐다.
그 결과, 유신물산이 우수사례 대상으로 뽑혔다. 이 기업은 중소기업 특성상 외국인 근로자 근무가 많은 경우로 외국인 근로자를 소통 언어에 따라 재배치하고, 우리나라 말이 원활하고 장기근속한 외국인 근로자를 비상상황 전파 인력으로 지정하는 등 언어에 따른 의사소통 문제를 해소해 화학안전 정보전달 용의성을 확보한 점이 높은 평가를 받았다.
엘지디스플레이㈜ 파주사업장과 ㈜엘지화학 여수사업장 2곳은 최우수상에 선정됐다. 동우화인켐㈜, 삼성에스디아이㈜ 청주사업장, 에어프로덕츠코리아㈜ 기흥화성사업장 등 3곳은 우수상으로 뽑혔다.
이들 기업은 △유독물 저장소 충전 시설의 실내 설치 △사고 데이터 분석을 통한 안전관리 △현장 스태프 집중양성 제도 △그림을 통한 작업 전 위험 예측 △사외배관 관리 공조체계 구축 등의 우수사례를 제시했다.
아울러 기업의 화학사고예방관리계획 이행을 적극적으로 지원하여 지역 화학안전 활성화에 기여한 지자체 2곳(군산시청 환경정책과, 천안시청 환경정책과)이 특별상에 선정됐다.
화학물질안전원은 4일 오후 원내 대강당(충북 청주시 소재)에서 시상식을 개최하고, 이번 공유대회에 선정된 우수사례들은 자료집과 영상으로 제작해 올해 말 화학물질안전원 누리집에 게재하고 관련 기업에도 자료를 배포할 계획이다.
박봉균 화학물질안전원장은 “앞으로도 화학물질안전원은 기업의 안전한 경영활동을 적극 지원하고, 지역사회와의 다양한 협업을 통해 화학안전 문화가 확산될 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
