[신년사] 김태흠 충남도지사
갑진년(甲辰年) 새해가 밝았습니다.
새해 복 많이 받으시고 소망하시는 일 모두 이루시는 한해가 되길 기원합니다.
지난해는 ‘힘쎈충남’의 저력을 증명해내는 한해였습니다. 충남도는 정부의 긴축재정에도 불구하고 도정 사상 최초로 국비 10조원을 돌파했습니다. 목 좋은 구멍가게같이 가만히 앉아서 오는 기업만 받는게 아닌, 적극적인 세일즈로 국내외를 막론한 128개 기업에서 18조 731억원의 투자유치를 달성하였습니다.
또한, 천안과 홍성에 지방최대 규모의 신규 국가산단을 유치하고, 국립경찰병원 분원 유치와 TBN 교통방송국 설립 등 산적한 도정현안을 신속히 해결해 나갔습니다. 도정이 성공적으로 2023년을 잘 마무리할 수 있었던 것은 항상 응원을 아끼지 않아주셨던 충남도민의 관심과 성원 덕분이었습니다.
충남은 새해에도 50년, 100년 미래 준비에 도정 역량을 집중하겠습니다. 힘센충남의 미래를 설계해 대한민국의 경제산업지도를 새롭게 그려나갈 것입니다. 농업·농촌의 구조개혁, 국가 탄소중립경제 선도, 베이밸리 메가시티 조성 등 3가지 큰 방향을 정하고 도정역량을 집중하겠습니다.
이를 위해 베이밸리 메가시티의 청사진을 제시하고, 「석탄 화력발전소 폐지지역 지원 특별법」제정을 통해 에너지 전환과 산업재편의 중심에 서겠습니다. 또한, 스마트팜 단지 250만평 이상을 조성해 청년농 3천명 이상을 유입할 수 있도록 하겠습니다. 청년농이 열정만 있다면 창업할 수 있도록 모든 지원체계를 구축해 나갈 것입니다.
이번 갑진년이 새로운 기회와 희망을 찾는 한해가 되도록 도민들께서도 힘을 모아 주시길 바랍니다. 새해를 맞아 여러분 모두의 가정에 건강과 행복이 가득하기를 기원합니다. 감사합니다.

Last year was a year that proved the power of ‘Strong Chungnam’. Despite the government's fiscal austerity, South Chungcheong Province surpassed 10 trillion won in national budget for the first time in provincial government history. Rather than accepting only companies that sit around like a good corner store, we achieved investment attraction of KRW 18.0731 trillion from 128 companies, both domestic and foreign, through active sales.
In addition, we attracted the largest new national industrial complexes in the region in Cheonan and Hongseong, and quickly resolved numerous pending provincial government issues, such as attracting a branch of the National Police Hospital and establishing a TBN traffic broadcasting station. The reason why the provincial government was able to successfully finish 2023 was thanks to the interest and support of South Chungcheong residents who always supported us.
In the new year, South Chungcheong Province will focus its provincial government capabilities on preparing for the 50th and 100th years of the future. By designing the future of the powerful South Chungcheong Province, we will redraw the economic and industrial map of Korea. We will focus our provincial government capabilities on three major directions: structural reform of agriculture and rural areas, leading the nation's carbon-neutral economy, and creating a Bay Valley mega city.
To this end, we will present a blueprint for the Bay Valley Mega City and stand at the center of energy transition and industrial reorganization by enacting the “Special Act on Support for Areas Abolished by Coal-fired Power Plants.” In addition, we will create a smart farm complex of more than 2.5 million pyeong to attract more than 3,000 young farmers. We will build a support system so that young farmers can start businesses if they have the passion.
