[신년사] 윤구병 공주시의회 의장
존경하는 공주시민 여러분! 공주시의회 의장 윤구병 새해 인사 올립니다.
2024년 갑진(甲辰)년 청룡의 해가 밝았습니다. 청룡은 동방을 수호하는 신성한 용입니다. 청룡의 기운을 받아 바라는 모든 소망이 지켜지고 이루어지시길 기원합니다.
2023년은 인플레이션이 심화되었으며 국제 정세가 요동치고 그 여파로 한국 경제 또한 고물가와 고금리, 고환율로 서민가계의 주름살이 더욱 깊어진 한해였습니다.
하지만 어떠한 시련도 우리는 극복할 수 있습니다. 우리 공주시의회는 집행부와 긴밀히 협력해 서민생활의 안정화 등 민생을 최우선에 두고 ‘활짝열린 의회, 살기좋은 공주’를 만들기 위한 의정활동에 매진하겠습니다.
또한 시민의 행복 향상을 위해 노력하는 조례 제정 등 일하는 의회 책임지는 의원들이 될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠습니다. 우리 모두 힘과 지혜를 모으고 고통을 분담하면서 경제 살리는 일에 적극 동참해 나간다면 위기는 곧 기회로 거듭나 이 어려운 현실을 극복할 수 있을 것입니다.

공주시의회는 2024년 시민 여러분과 살기좋은 공주를 만들기 위해 다음과 같이 약속드리겠습니다.
첫째, 시민과 약속을 지키는 의회가 되겠습니다. 의회의 힘은 시민의 의사를 제대로 반영할 때 나옵니다. 2024년에도 의회는 임기 첫해의 초심을 잃지 않고, 잘못된 조례와 불합리한 관행을 바꾸는데 노력을 다하겠습니다.

우리 공주시의회는 작년 경제정의실천시민연합 조사한 총 243개 전국 지방의회(광역, 기초) 의원들의 임기 첫 1년간 조례 발의 현황을 분석한 결과 공주시의회는 조례발의건수 최다, 입법비용 최소로 전국 1위를 달성하였습니다. 2024년에도 이 결과에 만족하지 않고 ‘공부하는 의회’, ‘일 잘하는 의회’가 될 수 있도록 노력하겠습니다.
