[신년사] 이완섭 서산시장
갑진년(甲辰年) 희망찬 청룡의 새해가 밝았습니다.
청룡은 용이 도를 깨우치면 비늘의 색이 변해 청룡이 된다고 합니다.
2024년은 도를 깨우친 청룡과 같이 그간의 허물을 벗고 높이 날아오르는 한 해 보내시길 기원합니다.
돌이켜보면 2023년은 코로나19, 태풍 카눈, 럼피스킨, 버스 운행 중단 등 어느 하나 쉽지 않은 격동의 한 해였습니다.
하지만, 시민과 한마음이 되어 피해를 최소화했습니다. 함께했고 시민들의 관심과 성원이 있었기에 모든 산을 넘어낼 수 있었습니다.
우리는 이러한 풍파 속에서도 수많은 성과를 이뤘습니다.
정부의 건전재정이라는 기조 속에도 본예산 1조1천452억 원을 편성했고, 정부예산은 무려 6천105억 원을 확보했습니다. 모두 역대 최대입니다.
획기적 민원처리시스템, ‘원스톱 민원서비스’는 평균 51%의 민원처리 단축률을 이끌며 시민 편의를 크게 높였습니다.
확 달라진 서산해미읍성축제와 국화축제 같은 대규모 행사도 성공리에 치러냈으며, 상급기관으로부터 받은 수많은 상으로 행정력도 입증했습니다.
올해 5월에는 충남 최초 국제크루즈선이 운항하며, 서산의 미래를 열 서산공항은 2028년 개항을 목표로 정상 추진의 기반을 마련했습니다.
숙원사업인 서산~영덕 고속도로 대산~당진 구간은 첫삽을 떴고, 가로림만 국가해양생태공원도 순차적인 조성 단계 절차를 진행 중에 있습니다.
시의 얼굴 서산 시청사와 문화예술타운 건립은 순풍을 탔고, UAM, 2차전지, 수소 등 다양한 신산업은 서산의 미래를 환히 밝히고 있습니다.
갑진년은 이보다 큰 성과를 이루는 성과창출의 원년(元年)이 될 것입니다.
