[신년사] 대존광역시의회 이상래 의장
존경하는 145만 대전광역시민 여러분!
대전의 새로운 미래를 열어갈 2024년 갑진년(甲辰年) 새해가 밝았습니다.
새해에도 시민 여러분 가정에 건강과 평안이 가득하시길 바라며, 승천하는 청룡의 기운으로 하시고자 하는 일을 모두 이루시는 희망찬 한 해가 되시길 기원합니다.
돌아보면 2023년은 쉽지 않은 시간이었습니다. 고금리와 고물가의 영향은 지역경제에 짙은 먹구름을 드리웠고, 한국타이어 화재와 산직동 산불과 같은 재난은 시민의 일상에 긴장과 어려움을 더했습니다.
그러나 우리 대전은 걱정에만 머물러 있지 않았습니다. 어려운 때일수록 더욱 힘을 내는 저력을 발휘하였습니다. 유성구 교촌동 일원에 나노·반도체 국가산단 최종후보지 선정 소식을 시작으로 대전의 현안과 숙원과제, 미래 성장사업들을 하나씩 해결하고 펼쳐 나가기 시작했습니다.
한편, 대전0시축제를 통해 그간 움츠렸던 일상과 지역경제에 활기를 한껏 불어넣었습니다. 축제의 성공은 축제를 잘 준비한 것이 전부는 아니었습니다. 지난겨울 난방비를 포함한 에너지 요금 대란에 대한 긴급지원 등 경제 형편과 가족 구성, 연령 특성에 맞는 여러 맞춤형 정책이 촘촘하게 시행되며 시민의 삶에 온기를 더해간 바탕이 있었기에 가능했습니다.
이러한 가운데 대전광역시의회는 침체된 지역경제를 살리고, 대전의 반도체산업 발전을 뒷받침하며, 대전의 문화관광 활성화에 힘을 싣는 자치 입법 등 시민의 삶을 향상하고 대전의 발전을 견인하는데 시민의 대표기관으로서 의정활동에 최선을 다해왔습니다.

2023년이 여러 어려움을 극복하며 도약을 준비하는 해였다면, 2024년은 대전의 발전이 본궤도에 오르는 해입니다.
도시철도 2호선 트램의 건설이 본격적으로 시작되며, 대전형 산업클러스터 D 밸리 구축, 대전역세권 복합개발 추진, 첨단바이오메디컬 혁신지구 조성 등 대전의 100년을 열어갈 중요한 현안 사업들이 더 구체적으로 형상화될 것입니다. 대전광역시의회는 이러한 여러 사업이 시민의 의사에 기반하여 내실을 갖추는 동시에 속도감 있게 진행되는데 의정활동의 초점을 맞추겠습니다.
