울진군, 주민참여형 울진 신림 풍력발전단지 조성 협약 체결

【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)은 지난 16일 LS ELECTRIC, 한국신림풍력(주), 신림 마을대표와 울진 신림 풍력발전단지 조성을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 17일 밝혔다.

군에 따르면 울진 신림 풍력발전단지는 발전기로부터 일정 거리 내에 있는 지역주민들이 투자자로 참여해 발전 수익을 공유하는 주민참여형으로 진행된다.

이번 업무협약의 주요내용은 총 사업비 약 1,270억을 투자하여 40㎿ 풍력발전단지 조성, 조기 사업 추진 및 산불피해 예방, 주민 참여형 모델로 지역주민 소득 증대를 위한 협력 등이다.

군은 이번 협약으로 기후위기 시대 탄소중립을 실현하고, 지역주민과 상생 협력하여 지역경제 발전과 신재생 에너지 인프라 구축에 추진력을 얻을 것으로 기대하고 있다.

손병복 울진군수는“이번 협약으로 지속 가능한 에너지원을 발굴하여 원자력과 신재생에너지가 동반 성장할 수 있는 토대를 마련하겠다”고 말했다.

또한 “올해 6월‘분산에너지 활성화 특별법’이 시행되면 분산 에너지로 활용하여 지역 산업과 동반 성장할 수 있도록 풍력발전단지 조성에 적극 협력하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
