브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 올해 2월 졸업예정자 중 취업에 성공한 사람은 5명 중 1명에 그치는 것으로 나타났다. 작년 8월 졸업자 중에서도 51% 정도만이 취업에 성공한 것으로 나타났다.
30일 잡코리아에 따르면 지난해 8월 졸업자와 올해 2월 졸업예정자 505명을 대상으로 ‘졸업 전 취업 성공 현황’에 관해 조사한 결과, 현재 취업에 성공해 신입직으로 근무하고 있는 이들은 40.4%였다.
졸업 시기로 구분해 보면 2023년 8월 졸업자들 중 50.9%가 취업에 성공했다. 나머지 49.1%는 현재까지 구직활동 중인 것으로 조사됐다. 올해 2월 졸업 예정자 중에는 21.9%만이 취업에 성공했고, 나머지 78.1%는 현재 구직활동 중인 것으로 집계됐다.
아직 취업에 성공하지 못한 취업준비생들에게 그 이유를 질문한 결과, 작년 8월 졸업자들은 ‘본인의 영어점수와 학점 등 스펙이 부족해서 취업에 성공하지 못한 것 같다’를 응답률 39.9%로 가장 높게 꼽았다. 2월 졸업예정자들 중에서는 ‘아직 취업활동을 시작한지 얼마되지 않았기 때문(53.8%)’을 1위로 꼽았다.
이어 △기업이 신입을 잘 뽑지 않아서(31.6%) △내 눈높이가 너무 높아서(21.3%) △면접 등에서 너무 긴장한 탓에(19.9%) △스펙 외에 공모전 입상이나 대외활동 경험이 부족해서(16.3%) 등이었다.
지금까지 총 몇 개 기업에 입사지원서를 제출했는지 질문한 결과, 취업에 성공한 이들은 평균 16곳의 기업에 입사지원서를 제출했고 그 중 서류전형에 통과해 면접을 본 횟수는 평균 6회로 집계됐다. 즉, 3번의 입사지원 끝에 1번의 면접 기회를 얻은 셈이다.
아직 취업에 성공하지 못한 신입직 구직자들은 지금까지 평균 14곳의 기업에 입사지원서를 제출했고, 서류전형에 통과해 면접을 본 횟수는 평균 3회인 것으로 조사돼 5번 입사지원 끝에 1번의 면접 기회를 얻은 것으로 나타낫다. 즉, 입사지원서를 잘 작성할수록 면접 기회를 더 얻을 수 있고 취업 성공률도 높아지는 셈이다.
