[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 설 연휴를 맞아 약 2만여명의 관광객이 거창 항노화힐링랜드, 창포원, 수승대 등 거창의 주요 명소를 방문했다고 밝혔다.
거창 창포원은 따뜻한 날씨 덕에 가족과 함께 산책을 하거나 자전거를 타는 사람으로 붐볐고 작년 대비 방문객이 3배 이상 증가했다.
특히 올해부터 진행한 연날리기, 투호 놀이 등 전통놀이 체험을 즐기는 사람들로 활기를 띠었다.
거창 수승대는 무병장수 둘레길을 걸으며 맑고 깨끗한 계곡물을 감상하는 사람들과 성령산 등산객은 물론 수승대 출렁다리를 찾는 관광객들로 붐볐다.
아이는 물론 어른까지 신나게 즐길 수 있는 거창 수승대의 눈썰매장은 지난해보다 1만명이 증가한 3만 천여명의 방문객을 기록하며 설 연휴를 끝으로 성황리에 종료됐다.
거창 항노화힐링랜드는 고향을 찾은 방문객들이 아쉽게 돌아가는 일이 없도록 연휴 동안 휴무일 없이 운영했으며 주차료를 면제했다.
힐링랜드에는 Y자형 출렁다리 아래 용소폭포와 기암괴석의 절경을 만날 수 있고 전망대에서 급제 바위를 바라보며 새해 소망도 빌 수 있어 많은 방문객이 찾았다.
한 출향인은 “휴일도 없이 근무하며 환한 미소로 친절하게 우리를 맞아주는 직원분들 덕에 기분 좋은 가족 여행이었다”고 말했다.
거창군은 설·추석 등 명절 당일을 제외한 나머지 연휴 기간을 휴일로 활용하는 사회적인 변화에 따라 이 시기에 많은 관광객들이 거창을 방문할 수 있도록 다양한 정책을 펼칠 계획이다.
특히 2023년에 처음 도입한 거창군 디지털 관광 주민증을 확대·개편해 고향을 방문한 출향인들이 혜택을 받으면서 여행할 수 있도록 관광객 수용 태세를 정비하고 우선 기존 가맹점으로 등록된 업체를 대상으로 할인폭을 늘릴 수 있도록 권유하고 신규업체를 대폭 확대해 여행객들에게 피부로 와닿는 혜택을 제공하겠다는 방침이다.
