브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차그룹이 우수한 역량을 보유한 혁신 신생 기업(스타트업)을 발굴하는 ‘제로원 액셀러레이터(ZER01NE ACCELERATOR)’의 2024년 공개 모집을 19일 시작한다.
‘제로원 액셀러레이터’는 현대차그룹의 개방형 혁신(오픈 이노베이션) 플랫폼으로 올해로 7년째를 맞았다. 이번 2024 제로원 액셀러레이터는 △SDV(Software Defined Vehicle) △스마트 팩토리(Smart Factory) △ESG(Environmental·Social·Governance) △AI(Artificial Intelligence) 등 4개 주제 총 14건의 협업 프로젝트에서 스타트업을 모집한다.
현대차그룹 현업팀은 협업 프로젝트를 직접 제안하고 선발 과정에도 참여한다. 최종 선발된 스타트업과는 공동으로 프로젝트를 진행한다. 현대차그룹은 이를 통해 우수한 역량을 가진 스타트업과 협업 네트워크를 구축하는 것은 물론 다양한 혁신 기술을 발굴·육성할 계획이다.
최종 선발된 스타트업은 프로젝트 개발비를 지원받고 현대차그룹이 운용하는 제로원 펀드를 통한 지분 투자 검토 대상으로 선정된다.
올해부터는 신규 프로그램도 더했다. 제품 개발 및 시장 진입을 위한 자금을 조달하는 투자 단계인 ‘Pre-A 라운드’를 유치하기 전의 스타트업은 위 4개 주제에 관련된 프로젝트를 자유롭게 제안할 수 있다. 선발된 스타트업은 제로원 펀드를 통한 지분 투자 대상 검토 기회를 제공한다.
참여를 희망하는 스타트업은 3월 10일까지 ‘제로원 액셀러레이터’ 모집 안내 웹페이지를 통해 지원 가능하다. 최종 결과는 서류 전형, 인터뷰 심사 등을 거쳐 4월경 발표될 계획이다.
한편, 2018년에 출범한 제로원 액셀러레이터에는 지금까지 현대차그룹 내 11개 그룹사, 150개의 현업팀이 참여했다. 총 177개사의 스타트업이 선정돼 128건의 협업 프로젝트가 진행됐으며 그 중 94개사에 대한 지분투자가 이뤄졌다.
