브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 한동훈 국민의힘 비상대책위원장이 23일 인천 계양을에 출마한 원희룡 전 국토부장관 지원에 나선다.
인천 계양을은 이재명 더불어민주당 대표의 출마가 유력한 지역이기 때문에, 험지 출마를 자처한 원희룡 전 장관에 힘을 싣기 위한 행보로 풀이된다.
이날 국민의힘에 따르면 한동훈 위원장은 이날 오후 3시경 원희룡 예비후보와 함께 인천지하철 1호선 박촌역을 방문해 지역 유권자들과 만난다.
이후 계양산전통시장으로 자리를 옮겨 시장 상인들과 간담회를 가진 뒤 시장을 돌며 지지를 이끌어낼 예정이다. 또 이날 오후 6시30분 경에는 계산역 사거리에서 퇴근인사도 예정돼 있다.
원희룡 후보는 지난 15일 계양을에 단수 공천됐으며 지역 공천 경쟁자였던 윤형선 전 계양을 당협위원장의 지지를 이끌어냈다.
또한 전 국가대표 축구선수인 이천수 씨가 후원회장으로 합류하는 등 총선을 앞두고 만반의 채비를 갖추고 있다.
