한중도시우호협회(회장 권기식ㆍ權起植)는 3월5일자 보도자료에서 “한중도시우호협회)는 5일 오후 서울시 영등포구 여의도동 맨하탄21빌딩에서 싱하이밍(邢海明) 주한중국대사 등이 참석한 가운데 한중경제협력센터 개소식을 열었다”고 알렸다.
권기식 회장은 인사말에서 "1992년 수교 이후 한중 관계는 경제협력을 바탕으로 더불어 상생하는 관계로 성장했다"며 "한중경제협력센터는 한중 경제협력과 기업인 교류의 창구 역할을 할 것"이라고 말했다. 싱하이밍 주한중국대사는 축사에서 "한국은 중국의 가장 중요한 경제협력 국가"라며 "한중경제협력센터가 한중 경제협력을 위해 큰 역할을 해주기 바란다"고 말했다.
한중도시우호협회는 한중 경제협력사업을 위해 코차코퍼레이션(대표 권완근)을 특별협력법인으로 지정했다. 협회는 한중경제협력센터 개소에 따라 공공교류를 위해 설립한 한중교류센터와 함께 맞춤형 한중교류사업을 본격 추진할 수 있게 됐다.
이날 개소식에는 박인복(朴仁福) 한국소기업소상공인연합회 회장과 남영진(南永振) 전 KBS 이사장, 유하이옌(兪海燕) 한국중국상회 집행회장 등 100여명이 참석했다.
