세종시가 내년도 정부예산 확보에 들어갔다.
시는 5일 시청 집현실에서 최민호 시장, 김하균 행정부시장, 이승원 경제부시장, 실·국·본부장 등이 참석한 가운데 ‘2025년도 정부예산 확보 보고회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이 보고회는 내년도 정부예산 확보 목표 및 추진계획 점검, 주요 사업 예산확보를 위한 예상 쟁점·대응 방안 등을 논의하기 위한 자리로, 내년도 정부예산 확보 활동의 본격적인 출발을 의미한다.
이 자리에서 시는 내년도 정부예산 확보 목표액을 올해 확보액 1.5조 원보다 10% 상향한 1.7조 원으로 설정했다.
시는 목표 달성을 위해 핵심 현안을 중심으로 선제적이고 적극적인 활동을 펼칠 방침이다.
특히 최근 어려운 시 재정 여건을 고려해 국가가 직접 수행하는 사업이나 국비 지원 비율이 높은 사업을 우선 발굴하기로 했다.
내년도 국비예산 확보에 주력할 주요 신규 국비 사업은 ▲한글문화단지 조성 ▲국제정원도시박람회 개최 ▲지방시대 종합타운 조성 ▲문화도시 조성 등이다.
이밖에 ▲국립중부권 생물자원관 건립 ▲국립세종극장 건립 ▲반려동물 인프라 구축 등도 내년 신규 국비사업에 이름을 올렸다.
또 국회세종의사당, 대평동 종합체육시설 건립 사업과 함께 교통 기반 구축을 위한 세종～안성 및 세종～청주 고속국도, 세종～천안 BRT 구축사업 등 현안 사업의 국비 반영 추진 방안이 논의됐다.
올해 신규사업으로 반영된 국립민속박물관 및 운전면허시험장 건립, 금강횡단교량과 같은 대규모 국비 사업의 경우 차질 없는 진행을 위한 사업 단계별 필요 예산에 중점을 두고 논의했다.
시는 이번 보고회에서 논의된 내용을 바탕으로 내년도 정부예산 확보 활동에 나선다는 계획이다.
최민호 시장은 올해 들어 최상목 부총리겸기획재정부장관, 김윤상 기획재정부 차관을 만난데 이어 기재부 김동일 예산실장을 이달 중 만나 세종시 현안 사업에 대한 관심과 지원을 요청할 예정이다.
최민호 시장은 “국회세종의사당 건립 확정으로 미래전략수도 완성을 위한 중대한 전환점을 맞고 있다”며 “창조와 도전의 마음가짐으로 주축사업을 구상하고 이에 발맞춰 정부예산이 확보될 수 있도록 전략 마련에 매진해 달라”고 당부했다.
