브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 국민연금공단은 한국장애인자립생활센터총연합회에서 주관하는 ‘2024 자립생활(IL) 컨퍼런스’에서 중증장애인 자립생활 지원과 장애인활동지원서비스 제도 발전에 기여한 유공자 5명에게 ‘국민연금공단 이사장 표창장’을 수여했다고 6일 밝혔다.
이날 행사는 정부, 국회, 학계, 장애인단체 등 유관기관에서 300여 명이 참석한 가운데 외부 인사 축사, 수상자 소감 영상 시청, 유공자 표창 순으로 진행됐다.
‘자립생활(IL) 컨퍼런스’는 2007년 선포된 3월 6일 ‘장애인자립생활의 날’을 기념하기 위해 2008년부터 매년 개최 중인 행사다.
공단은 2013년부터 참여해 장애인 자립생활 지원과 제도 발전에 기여한 유공자를 표창하고 있다.
이여규 복지이사는 “이번 콘퍼런스를 통해 장애로 인한 차별이 없는 사회로 한 걸음 더 다가가는 계기가 되길 희망한다”며 “앞으로도 공단은 장애인의 자립생활을 지원함으로써 이들이 완전한 사회참여가 가능하도록 최선을 다해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
