[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 달콤한 의령 토요애수박이 첫 출하를 시작했다.
토요애유통은 지난 7일 출하를 시작으로 111농가, 1,222동에서 생산한 수박 55만 통을 판매한다고 밝혔다.
토요애수박은 낙동강과 남강 언저리의 비옥한 토지와 맑은 수질을 가지고 있는 수박 생산의 적지인 의령에서 생산되는 수박이다.
군은 고품질의 수박 중 11Brix 이상의 고당도 수박을 별도 선별해 소비자에게 공급하고 있다.
특히 지난겨울 잦은 비와 흐린 날씨로 일조량이 예년에 비해 부족해 우려가 컸으나 수박 공동선별 조직 강화와 체계적인 포장 관리를 통해 고품질 수박 생산의 결실을 이뤘다.
토요애유통은 농업인 소득증대를 꾀하기 위해 수탁사업으로 수박을 출하하던 것을 지난해 매취사업으로 전환해 출하를 시행하고 있다.
군은 농협물류 및 대형 유통업체에 납품해 안정적인 소득을 올릴 수 있도록 노력하고 있다.
토요애유통 오재덕 대표는 “지난해 농업인에게 많은 도움이 되었던 매취사업을 더욱 확대해 안정적으로 물량을 확보하고 다양한 판로 개척을 통해 많은 소비자에게 공급될 수 있도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.
오태완 군수는 “지방소멸대응기금 15억을 투입해 농산물 선별라인을 증·개축하는 의령군농산물종합유통센터 스마트 유통체계 구축사업을 추진하겠다 매년 250억 이상 매출액 달성을 이뤄 농업인의 소득증대를 꾀하겠다”고 밝혔다.
