브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 블라디미르 푸틴 러시아 대통령은 13일(현지시간) "러시아 국가의 존립이 위협받는다면 핵무기를 사용할 수 있다"고 밝혔다.
러시아 대선을 이틀 앞둔 이날 푸틴 대통령은 로씨야1과 리아노보스티 통신과의 인터뷰에서 '우크라이나 전쟁에서 핵무기를 사용할 준비가 돼 있느냐'는 질문에 "국가의 존립, 주권과 독립에 피해를 입히는 경우 (러시아는) 핵무기를 포함해 모든 무기를 사용할 준비가 돼 있다"고 답했다.
푸틴 대통령은 "(핵무기 사용에 있어) 우리만의 원칙이 있고 그것은 바뀌지 않았다"면서 "군사·기술적 측면에서 (핵무기 사용은) 물론 준비돼 있다. 우리의 3대 핵 전력은 다른 국가들보다 더 현대적이다"라고 설명했다.
이어 "다만 지금 모든 상황이 (핵무기를 사용하도록) 정면으로 전개되고 있다고 생각하진 않는다. 하지만 우리는 이에 대비하고 있다"고 했다.
우크라니아 전쟁과 관련해선 "현실에 기반해 우크라이나 전쟁 종전 협상을 할 준비도 돼 있다"면서 "(종전 협상은) 우크라이나의 재무장을 위한 일시 휴전이 아닌, 러시아 안보 보장에 대한 진지한 대화여야 한다. 평화적인 수단으로 해결하길 원하며 우리는 이에 대한 준비가 돼 있다"고 강조했다.
또한 미국의 우크라전 참전 역시 없을 것이라고 했다. 푸틴 대통령은 "미국은 (우크라전 참전이) 러시아 영토에 들어오는 것으로 우리가 간주할 것이란 점을 잘 이해하고 있다"고 말했다. 아울러 "러시아는 미국 선거에 개입하지 않는다"면서 "미국 유권자의 신뢰를 받는 어떤 지도자와도 협력할 것이다"라고 했다.

"Russia does not interfere in US elections," he said, adding, "We will cooperate with any leader who is trusted by US voters."
Meanwhile, Russia's presidential election will be held through voting for 15-17 days. Putin's fifth term is almost certain.
