윤석열 대통령이 14일 "영암에서 광주까지 47km 구간에 약 2조6천억을 투입해 독일 아우토반같은 초고속도로 건설을 추진하겠다"고 밝혔다.
윤 대통령은 이날 전남 무안군 전남도청에서 '미래산업과 문화로 힘차게 도약하는 전남' 주제로 열린 스무 번째 국민과 함께하는 민생토론회 모두 발언에서 이같이 전했다. 전남 민생토론회는 이번이 처음이다.
그러면서 "전남 생활권을 확장하고 광역 경제권 형성을 위해 가장 중요 과제가 교통 인프라 확충"이라며 "(초고속도로 건설을 위해) 올해 세부 계획 마련을 위한 연구에 즉시 착수하겠다"고 전했다.
또 "현재 건설 중인 광주-강진 고속도로에 이어 예비타당성조사 중인 강진-완도 고속도로 건설도 속도 높여 추진하겠다"며 "호남 내륙 익산부터 남쪽 해안 여수까지 180km 구간을 고속철도망으로 연결해 지역을 더 빠르게 연결하겠다"고 밝혔다.
이어 "지금 전라선 고속철도 속도가 느려 제 기능을 발휘 못한다는 불만이 많다"며 "우선 전라선 고속철도 개선에 1조 이상을 투입해 속도 개선에 최선을 다할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
더불어 "전남을 대한민국 우주산업 거점으로 육성할 것"이라며 우주산업클러스터 삼각체제 구축산업 한 축인 고흥 우주발사체 국가산단에 대한 예비타당성 면제를 약속했다.

이어 "전남이 키운 인재들이 전남을 지속 발전시키는 선순환 체계를 구축하겠다"며 남부권 광역 관광 개발 1조3000억 투입·순천시 진도군 문화 도시 선정·순천 애니메이션 클러스터 'K-디즈니' 조성 등 문화·교육 인프라 업그레이드 방안을 전했다.
