브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차그룹이 사상 첫 아프리카 대상 정상회의인 ‘2024 한-아프리카 정상회의’의 공식 의전 차량을 지원한다.
현대차그룹은 22일 서울 종로구 코리안리 빌딩에서 한-아프리카 정상회의 준비기획단과 ‘2024 한-아프리카 정상회의’의 성공적 개최를 위한 공식 의전 차량 지원 협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
협약식에는 현대차그룹 김일범 부사장과 정기홍 한-아프리카 정상회의 준비기획단장 등이 참석했다.
이번 협약 체결로 현대차그룹은 오는 6월 4일부터 5일까지 경기도 고양시 킨텍스 및 서울에서 개최되는 2024 한-아프리카 정상회의와 부대행사가 원활하게 진행될 수 있도록 제네시스 플래그십 세단 G90 77대와 럭셔리 중형 세단 G80 42대 등 총 119대를 공식 의전 차량으로 지원한다.
아프리카를 대상으로 처음 개최되는 이번 2024 한-아프리카 정상회의에는 아프리카 국가 및 관련 국제기구 등 총 50여개 대표단 등이 초청됐다.
참석 정상들은 산업, 통상, 자원 등 전방위적 측면에서 한국과 아프리카 국가 간 협력관계를 지속적으로 확대하고, 국제 무대에서의 공조를 강화하기 위한 방안을 논의할 예정이다.
아프리카는 2021년 아프리카자유무역협정(AfCFTA) 시행 이후 회원국수 기준 최대 단일 시장이자 GDP 3조 달러 규모의 거대 경제권으로 부상했으며, 2035년까지 인구가 약 17억 명에 달할 것으로 예상되는 등 풍부한 성장 잠재력을 보유한 지역이다.
