브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 농협중앙회가 농림축산식품부와 18일 충북 단양군 매포체육관에서 2024년‘농촌 왕진버스’ 발대식을 개최하며, 농촌 지역 의료 공백을 메우기 위한 찾아가는 의료 서비스 시작을 알렸다.
‘농촌 왕진버스’(舊 농업인 행복버스)는 병의원, 약국 등 의료 시설이 부족한 농촌 지역 주민들에게 양·한방 의료, 구강검진 및 검안 등 종합 의료서비스를 제공하는 사업이다. 2024년에는 농촌 및 인구감소 지역을 대상으로 연 300회 운영 계획이다.
농촌 왕진버스는 의료기반 시설이 취약한 농촌 주민들의 질병예방 및 건강관리를 통해 지역 소멸 위기에 놓여있는 농촌의 정주 조건 개선을 목표로 시행된다. 농촌 지역은 고령화율과 유병률이 도시에 비해 높으나 교통과 의료 접근성이 낮은 상황이다. 농촌 왕진버스는 직접 마을 단위로 찾아가면서 의료 공백 해소에 기여할 예정이다.
