브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 국토교통부 대도시권광역교통위원회는 협업 카드사(10개사)들과 함께 오는 24일부터 K-패스 카드 발급을 시작한다고 밝혔다.
K-패스는 월 15회 이상 정기적으로 대중교통(시내·마을버스, 지하철, 광역버스, GTX 대상)을 이용할 경우 지출금액의 일정비율(일반인 20%, 청년층 30%, 저소득층 53%)을 다음 달에 돌려받을 수 있는 교통카드다.
올 5월 1일 출시일부터 K-패스의 혜택을 받을 수 있다.
참여 카드사별로 카드 이용 실적에 따라 추가 혜택을 제공해 이용자들의 교통비 부담을 한층 줄일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
카드 발급 신청 및 자세한 사항은 각 카드사 누리집에서 확인할 수 있다.
K-패스 혜택을 받기 위해서는 K-패스 카드 발급뿐만 아니라, 알뜰교통카드 회원 전환 또는 K-패스 신규 회원가입 절차를 반드시 거쳐야 한다.
기존 알뜰교통카드를 이용 중인 이용자는 추가 카드 발급이나 회원 가입 없이 알뜰카드 앱 또는 누리집에서 간단한 회원 전환 절차(알뜰카드 → K-패스)를 거쳐 계속해서 K-패스 혜택을 받을 수 있다.
5월 이후에도 알뜰교통카드 누리집을 통해 오는 6월 30일까지 회원 전환이 가능하다.
신규 가입자는 5월 1일 출시되는 K-패스 앱 또는 누리집에서 신규 회원가입 절차를 거쳐 혜택을 받을 수 있다.

대도시권광역교통위원회 강희업 위원장은 “5월 1일 K-패스가 출시되는 날부터 바로 카드를 이용할 수 있도록 카드사와 협의해 사업 시작 일주일 전 카드 발급을 시작한다”며 “K-패스가 차질 없이 출시될 수 있도록 누리집과 앱 등을 면밀히 점검하고, 더 많은 국민들이 이용할 수 있도록 다양한 온·오프라인 채널을 통해 홍보할 계획이다”고 말했다.
