세종시에 ‘공공임대형 지식산업센터’가 건설된다.
세종시는 23일 집현동 테크밸리 내 산업 부지에서 공공임대형 지식산업센터 착공식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
유망 중소기업 유치와 양질의 일자리 창출을 위한 세종 공공임대형 지식산업센터는 지난 2021년 중소벤처기업부 공모사업 선정에 따라 건립되는 것으로, 제조업·지식산업·정보통신산업 등을 영위하는 중소기업이 임대를 통해 복합 입주할 수 있는 곳이다.
세종시는 중소·벤처기업에 비교적 저렴한 임대료로 사업 공간을 제공함으로써 기업 입지 문제를 해소하고 정보통신기술(IT), 스마트시티, 정보보호·양자산업 등의 첨단산업을 육성할 계획이다.
지식산업센터는 국비 160억 원을 포함, 총 545억 원을 투입해 대지면적 7,871㎡, 연면적 1만 4,850㎡에 지하 1층～지상 7층 규모로 건립될 예정이다.
또 기업 입주공간 71실, 컨퍼런스룸, 회의실 등 편의시설을 갖춰 2026년 9월 준공할 계획이다.
완공 후에는 인근 공동캠퍼스, 국책연구단지를 비롯한 산학연 네트워크와 활발하게 연계하면서 첨단산업 연구·개발의 중심지가 될 것으로 기대된다.
