월성원자력본부, 장애인의 날 기념 ‘소리로 보는 원자력’ 견학 시행

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=한국수력원자력(주) 월성원자력본부(본부장 김한성)는 지난 23일 제44회 장애인의 날(4.20.)을 맞아 울산시 중구 시각장애인 주간보호센터(센터장 이재호)의 시각장애인을 초청하여 ‘소리로 보는 원자력’ 견학 이벤트를 시행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 “함께하는 길, 평등으로 향하는 길”이라는 올해 슬로건을 기반으로 20여명의 시각장애인과 함께 월성본부 홍보관과 전망대 등 현장을 견학하며 원전의 안전성과 사회적 수용성을 높이는 특별한 체험을 제공하기 위해 기획됐다.

이날 김한성 본부장의 인사말을 시작으로 장정일 대외협력처장이 직접「왜 하필 원자력인가」라는 주제로 에너지와 원자력에 대한 특강과 퀴즈 이벤트를 시행하여 방문객들의 뜨거운 호응을 받았다.

김한성 본부장은 “평소 외출이 어려운 시각장애인들과 함께 봄을 느낄 수 있는 에너지 연결고리를 만들어 기쁘고, 이러한 에너지는 우리 한수원이 만드는 전기에너지보다 훨씬 소중한 에너지임을 생각하게 되었다. 앞으로 월성본부는 사회공헌활동을 통해 국민과 더 가깝게 소통하는 기업이 되겠다.” 고 말했다.
