세종시가 올해 법인·개인택시 면허 68대를 신규 공급한다고 24일 밝혔다.
이번 증차로 법인택시 24대, 개인택시 44대가 늘어나 세종시 택시면허는 총 438대에서 506대로 증가하게 된다.
앞서 시는 지난 4차 택시총량제 개정 지침에 따라 2019년 인구 기준 32만 2,000명을 반영, 2022년 당시 택시 86대를 증차한 바 있다.
이후 추가적인 인구 증가세를 반영해 국토교통부에 택시 총량 조정을 건의했고 올해 총 68대를 증차할 수 있게 됐다.
시는 이번 택시 증차 효과를 극대화하기 위해 모든 신규 면허에 대해 일정 기간 영업 범위를 신도시(탑승 위치 기준)로 한정할 계획이다.
또 운송 효율성을 고려해 기존에 약 14%로 배분하던 법인택시 배분 비율을 전국 평균 수준에 맞춰 35%로 높였다.
법인택시 신규면허는 택시업계 평가결과 등을 반영해 관내 5개 업체에 이달 중으로 면허 배분을 완료할 예정이다.
개인택시의 경우 신규면허 발급을 위해 ‘세종특별자치시 개인택시운송사업면허 사무처리규정’에 따라 9월 중으로 대상자 모집공고를 내고 오는 12월 안으로 면허 배분을 완료할 예정이다.
