[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 25일 생활하수 처리용량의 과부하 해소와 처리된 하수 구역의 수질개선을 위해 추진된 거창 공공하수처리시설 증설사업을 완료하고 준공식을 개최했다.
이날 공공하수처리장에서 개최된 준공식에는 구인모 거창군수, 신성범 국회의원 당선자, 박주언 도의원, 박수자 군의회 부의장을 비롯한 군의원, 최종원 낙동강유역환경청장, 강동수 거창읍 이장협의회장 등 기관단체장과 지역주민 160여명이 참석했다.
행사는 증설사업 경과보고를 시작으로 감사패 전달, 기념사, 축사, 테이프 커팅식 순으로 진행됐다.
이번 증설사업은 2021년 3월부터 착수했으며 총사업비 250억원을 들여 올해 3월에 준공했다.
기존 처리시설은 하루 14,000톤의 하수를 처리할 수 있었으나, 이번 사업으로 5,000톤이 증설되어 1일 19,000톤의 생활하수를 처리할 수 있게 됐다.
군은 처리시설 안정적 운영을 위해 하수처리공법 기자재 납품사와 관리대행사의 전문 시험 운전팀을 구성하고 5개월간 하수처리 종합 시운전을 시행했다.
그 결과 총 4회에 걸쳐 실시한 방류수 수질검사에서 법정 수질기준보다 좋은 수치를 나타냈다.
그동안 거창 공공하수처리시설은 거창읍 하수처리구역 확대와 각종 개발사업이 늘어남에 따라 시설 증설이 필요했다.
이번 사업의 완료로 안정적인 하수처리와 황강 최상류 방류수역의 수질개선이 가능해졌다.
구인모 거창군수는 기념사를 통해 “군민들의 협조로 거창 공공하수처리시설 증설사업이 무사히 완료될 수 있었으며 앞으로도 지속적인 하수 관리를 통해 군민들에게 깨끗한 물 공급과 하천 생태계 보전을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
거창군은 1979년 10월에 수도사업소를 설립한 이후 군민들에게 깨끗한 물을 제공하고 지역에서 발생하는 생활하수 등을 깨끗하게 처리해 방류수역의 생태환경을 유지하기 위해 매진하고 있다.
현재 거창군 주요 하수시설은 총 39개소로 공공하수처리시설 3개소, 소규모하수처리시설 25개소, 취수장 4개소, 정수장 4개소, 분뇨처리장·가축 분뇨 공공 처리시설 공공폐수처리시설 각 1개소를 관리하고 있으며 깨끗한 물을 가정에 공급하기 위해 보이지 않는 곳에서 노력을 기울이고 있다.
한편 거창군은 올해 3월부터 저출산 극복을 위한 정책으로 다자녀가정 수도 요금 감면 사업 지원 대상을 기존 3명에서 2명으로 완화함에 따라 2,500여 세대가 추가로 혜택을 받을 수 있게 됐다.
감면 기준은 가정용 1단계 요율인 10톤에 월 최대 6,400원까지 감면되며 사용량이 10톤보다 적으면 사용한 금액만큼만 감면된다.
또한 2022년부터 시작한 스마트 관망 관리 구축 사업이 올해 6월 준공 예정으로 수도시설에 대한 체계적인 관리가 가능해져 수질관리와 수돗물 제공의 신뢰도를 높일 계획이다.
