진주시, 논개제 기간 임시주차장 4곳 운영

[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 오는 5월 3일부터 개최되는 ‘제23회 진주 논개제’의 임시주차장 4곳을 개설·운영한다고 25일 밝혔다.

진주 논개제는 진주성 및 남강 일원에서 의기 논개를 비롯해 7만 민·관·군의 충절과 진주정신을 기리는 독특한 교방문화를 즐기고 체험할 수 있는 축제다.

시는 축제장을 찾는 많은 시민들과 외지 관광객 등으로 축제장 주변 교통 혼잡을 줄이기 위해 임시주차장 4곳을 제공할 방침이다.

임시주차장의 위치는 나불천 복개도로(남성동 274-10), 인사동 공용주차장(인사동 163-1), 교육지원청 주차장(중안동 14-9), 진주공설운동장(신안동 1-1)이다.

주차면은 총 870면으로 축제기간 동안 무료로 개방되지만 교육지원청 주차장은 교육지원청 방문 민원인의 편의를 위해 3일 오후 4시 30분부터 개방한다.

진주시 관계자는 “방문객들이 편안하고 안전하게 축제를 즐길 수 있도록 주차편의 제공 및 교통안전 확보에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
