브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 한국유나이티드제약은 유엔에스바이오, 와이바이오로직스와 25일 신규 항체약물접합체(ADC) 항암제 개발을 위한 양해각서를 체결하며 혁신 신약 개발에 나섰다.
이번 협약을 통해 3사는 신규 항체약물접합체(ADC) 항암제 개발에 대한 공동 연구를 수행함과 동시에, 각사의 특화된 전문성을 결합하여 혁신 신약 개발에 대한 새로운 협력 모델을 제시할 예정이다.
먼저, 한국유나이티드제약은 본 협력에서 ADC에 최적화된 독성 저분자 약물 개발을 담당한다. 개량신약 및 신제제 개선 품목 개발에 특화된 한국유나이티드제약은 매년 과감한 연구개발 비용을 투입해 다양한 원천 기술 및 특허 제제 기술을 보유하고 있는 만큼 최적화된 약물 효과를 가진 페이로드 개발 및 ADC 생산에 나설 예정이다.
아울러 한국유나이티드제약과 서울대 기술지주가 합작으로 설립한 항암제 신약 연구소 기업인 유엔에스바이오는 항체약물접합체(ADC) 개발 및 허가 과정을 담당하고, 항체 신약 개발 플랫폼 기업인 와이바이오로직스는 ADC에 표적성을 부여하는 항체 개발을 담당할 예정이다.
이러한 시너지 효과를 통해 3사는 신약 개발에 대한 연구 역량을 키우고, 신약 개발에 들어가는 기간과 비용을 효율적으로 관리할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
