브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 국민연금공단은 노후준비에 대한 인식을 높이고, 노후준비서비스를 활성화하기 위해 부천시, 서울신학대학교와 업무협약을 체결했다고 30일 밝혔다.
부천시의 고령인구비율은 2024년 3월 기준 17.6%로 경기도 31개 시·군 중에서 9번째로 높다. 2026년이면 고령인구비율이 20%가 넘는 초고령사회로 진입할 전망이다.
이번 협약은 이러한 인구 고령화 현상에 대응해 부천시민이 행복하고 안정된 노후생활을 보낼 수 있도록 지역 특성에 맞는 노후준비 지원사업을 발굴하고 운영하기 위해 체결됐다.
협약에 따라 공단은 부천시민의 노후준비 인식개선을 위해 노력하는 한편, 부천시에 위치한 서울신학대학교의 교직원과 학생을 대상으로 노후준비 상담과 교육을 실시한다.
부천시는 시민들이 노후준비서비스를 쉽게 접할 수 있도록 공단과 함께 홍보하며, 서울신학대학교는 노후준비 교육과정을 개설할 계획이다.
한편, 공단은 ‘노후준비 지원법’에 따라 노후준비서비스 제공자 양성, 서비스 프로그램 개발 및 보급 등의 업무를 수행하고 있으며, 노후준비 4대 영역(재무·건강·여가·대인관계)을 중심으로 국민에게 상담과 교육을 제공하고 있다.
이여규 국민연금공단 복지이사는 “부천시민들이 든든한 노후를 보낼 수 있도록 이번 협약이 밑거름되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 더 많은 지방자치단체, 대학과 협력해 노후준비서비스를 확산할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
