영화 “4월의 불꽃” 제작발표회가 5월13일 오후 2시 4.19혁명 기념도서관에서 열렸다.
영화 “4월의 불꽃” 제작사(레드 파노라마)측은 5월14일 보도자료에서 “1960년 3.15와 4.19혁명의 이야기를 담은 영화 ‘4월의 불꽃’이 제작된다. 이 영화는 1960년 4.19혁명의 도화선이 되었던 김주열 열사의 이야기를 중심으로 당시상황을 드라마틱하게 풀어낼 예정”이라고 알렸다. 영화의 집필을 맡은 작가(정대성)는 팩트와 픽션을 가미한 극영화형식으로, ‘419 혁명의 도화선을 찾는 휴먼시대극‘을 완성하겠다는 포부를 밝혔다.
이 자료에 따르면, 이번 영화에서 김주열의 어머니로 오랜만에 스크린에 돌아오게 된 배우 조은숙(대표작 : 금나와라 뚝딱)은 3.15 부정선거 때 안타깝게 아들을 잃은 어머니의 역할을 아주 애잔하게 연기할 예정이다. 배우 조재윤(대표작 : 아저씨)도 역사적인 진실과 영화의 긴박한 상황을 뛰어난 연기력으로 함께 한다.

그 시대를 주름잡았던 이승만의 양아들 이강석과 가짜 이강석, 락현의 1인2역을 맡은 배우 김명호(대표작 : 사랑의 온도 82도)와 더 씨아의 송민경이 화양연화의 시월역에 합류하면서 이번 영화의 재미와 흥미를 더욱 실어줄 전망.
김명호는 얼마 전 세계적인 스타 앤해서웨이와 함께 LA영화제에서 사랑의 온도 82도로 남우 주연상 후보에 올라 LA연기학교에서 주는 특별 남우 주연상을 수상했다.
